Happy New Year! We are back in session and we are so happy to be here. First and foremost, we want to remind everyone to save the date for our annual Sr. Roberta O’Hea Scholarship Dinner. Proceeds from this fun evening go to our students who need assistance with our tuition. Please attend, or consider making a donation is you are not able to be there in person.
As part of their STEM program, the 4th and 6th grade did an “egg drop” from the balcony in the gym. With materials (Styrofoam cups, paper clips, rubber bands, cotton balls and paper) they made a safe container to try to ensure the egg would not break during its fall. It’s all down to engineering and ingenuity to minimize the impact.
Fourteen new members were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. The ceremony began in St. Augustine Church and ended with a celebration in our gym. There are now twenty-seven members in the National Junior Honor Society who are leaders not only in academics, but also in how they serve their school and treat others. Congratulations children, teachers, and parents.
Catholic Schools Week is alive and well. The last week of January there were all sorts of ways to celebrate Catholic education at St. Augustine School. The cooking club made delicious food for all the staff on Tuesday, January 30th to thank them for all their hard work. The ziti, chicken parmesan, mac and cheese-were SUPER! Thanks children! You’re fantastic!
Our children come from many countries, 32 flags and children carrying them marched down the aisles on Sunday , Jan 29th at 12:30 Mass for our Catholic School opening Mass. We celebrate our proud and diverse culture. we can learn so many things from each other.
For our Primary Mini-Olympics, the children ran; galloped; sat on scooters; did wheel-barrel races; and so much more! They’re Body SMART, Self SMART. Dancing (Music and People SMART) ! It all ended in a wonderful morning.
