The dinner is named after St. Augustine School’s longtime principal (1978-2009) and teacher, Sister Roberta O’Hea, who passed away in 2009. She was present at the school from 1959 until her death. In 1992, under her leadership, the school received Middle States Accreditation, the first Catholic elementary school in Hudson County to do so. After her death, she was was honored by alumni, students, and city officials with the renaming of 40th Street between New York and Palisade Avenues as “Sister Roberta Way.”
This year’s honorees include The Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth who are part of St. Augustine School, and George and Patricia Politis.
