It’s that time of year again. Please join us in supporting the wonderful students who attend St. Augustine School at the 7th annual Sr. Roberta O’Hea Scholarship Dinner on May 1, 2019 at the Fiesta at 6:30p.m. During our Cocktail Hour, we will have the wonderful ‘Jazz Cats’ playing again for us – under the direction of Mr. Bart Erbach.
The dinner is named after St. Augustine School’s longtime principal (1978-2009) and teacher, Sister Roberta O’Hea, who passed away in 2009. She was present at the school from 1959 until her death. In 1992, under her leadership, the school received Middle States Accreditation, the first Catholic elementary school in Hudson County to do so. After her death, she was honored by alumni, students, and city officials with the renaming of 40th Street between New York and Palisade Avenues as “Sister Roberta Way.”
This year’s honoree is a very special one. He is a wonderful spiritual leader and supporter of Catholic education: Joseph W. Cardinal Tobin, C. SS. R, D.D
